A Belated Holiday Present from Calgary

Last month, one of my CPKC Holiday Train photos won an online CPKC Instagram contest, which meant that after I finished celebrating this blessed event, I would receive a “prize pack” from CPKC’s headquarters.

Last Wednesday, when I came home for the evening, there was a note on my door. UPS tried to deliver a package to me – it required a signature – and so, since I wasn’t home, the package was redirected to a UPS station in nearby Troy.

I checked the note. Origin of the package – Calgary.

So unless Santa Claus operates a branch office in Alberta … this may be the “prize pack” from CPKC for my Holiday Train photo win.

And after a little this and that from UPS, the package arrived in my living room.

Opened it up like it was the first present of December 25.

And when CPKC says “prize pack” –

They’re not kidding.

I need to inventory all this treasure like I’m Johnny Olsen announcing the Showcase on The Price is Right. Because in this serious “prize pack” – we’ve got …

A CPKC Holiday Train hot-cold drink container!

A CPKC Holiday Train power brick!

CPKC wrapping paper!

The 2025 CPKC Calendar!

A Bluetooth-powered audio speaker!

Which will pair nicely with Bluetooth headphones!

And best of all … the sweetest prize in the prize pack …

It’s the CPKC Holiday Train knit cap!!!

Trust me, it’s a Holiday Train knit cap … see the little leather patch on it?

This is above and beyond what I hoped for in this prize pack. Above and beyond. Much thanks to CPKC and all its workers for not only the Holiday Train itself, but for this cornucopia of holiday gifts. Absolutely incredible.

And you know that Holiday Train knit cap will look really stylish on my noggin during this recent cold weather snap, amirite?

Yeah, I’m right.

And yes … can’t wait for the Holiday Train in 2025!!
